Social Impact

At CSL, we are continually exploring ways to harness the Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity to create positive impacts in society. Our commitment to social impact spans four key areas: environment, community, our people, and governance. We believe that a strong social impact strategy leads to a more sustainable and successful business, creating value for both our stakeholders and society.

Environment

Our commitment to the environment includes ongoing ESOS building (energy consumption) and transport (company vehicle) recommendations. This is so that we improve energy efficiency, reduce our carbon footprint and ensure that we make consistent year-on-year progress towards achieving net zero emissions by 2050. So that our operational processes and resource management align with these commitments, we will continue to comply with standards such as ISO 14001, submit ESOS action plans, and provide associated annual monitoring and progress reports.

We currently promote sustainable practices through initiatives such as our EV scheme, recycling operations, packaging reduction, and a ride-to-work program.

Community

We recognise the importance of supporting the communities in which we operate.

Over the past few years, our people have actively participated in a variety of challenges and events, raising thousands to support those in need. From running marathons, swimming the Thames, staff rounders tournaments, hiking in the Welsh mountains and office bake sales, their dedication and hard work have made a tangible difference. Their efforts have also cultivated a sense of togetherness and compassion within CSL.

We recognise that our people will have different causes that are close to their heart, so we offer our employees an annual paid volunteering day that can be used for carrying out challenges or volunteering locally.

Our People

We're proud to be a recognised leader in employee well-being and development.

As a Great Place to Work, we're ranked among the top 100 tech companies and the 68th best medium-sized company overall. The dedication we have to our people is evident in our low annual employee turnover rate of just 6% and our impressive headcount growth of 125% over the past five years.

It's important to us that our employees enjoy their time at CSL, so we strive to create an environment where they can enjoy their work, feel rewarded for their efforts, develop new skills, and advance in their careers.

We also prioritise employee wellbeing with a comprehensive program that includes an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, financial wellness resources, and a dedicated Wellbeing Hub. We also ensure our employees are paid through the Living Wage Foundation. While valuing the differing perspectives that we gain from having a diverse workforce, we are committed to ensuring that our culture remains inclusive for all and helps create a level playing field through its focus on encouraging equity.

Governance

Our governance standards promote integrity and transparency in every aspect of our operations.

We have established a robust governance framework that ensures transparency, accountability, and ethical decision-making throughout our operations. This framework includes:

  • Environmental, Privacy, Vulnerability Disclosure and Slavery & Human Trafficking policies

  • Regular reporting on our ESG performance

  • Data protection processes

  • Cyber accreditations and standards
