April 2022 will see 77 additional exchanges move into their 'stop sell' stage for new PSTN connections.
The UK's digital network business, Openreach, has announced the 77 exchanges to be included in the 4th tranche of the All IP (Digital Voice) project. These exchanges, outlined in the table below, bring the total number up to 297 – impacting near to 3 million premises across the UK within the next 12 months. Although the industry has until 2025 to complete the switch, exchanges are being upgraded now. Installers should be thinking about how they can move any analogue reliant devices to a fully digital solution.
